The Stewardship Program

Active Surface Monitoring. Planned Care. Documented Preservation.

Aircraft surfaces should not have to deteriorate before they receive attention.
The Aero Gleam Stewardship Program is an aircraft-specific system of active surface monitoring, scheduled care, protection, and documentation designed to help maintain surface condition over time.
Rather than waiting until an aircraft looks dirty, oxidized, stained, or neglected, Stewardship establishes a baseline, develops an appropriate preservation strategy, and monitors the aircraft's surfaces as they respond to use, storage, environment, and time.
You operate the aircraft. Aero Gleam helps manage its surfaces.

Active Surface Monitoring

Cleaning tells us how an aircraft looks today.

Stewardship asks a larger question: How are its surfaces changing over time?

During recurring service, Aero Gleam observes the surfaces we care for—painted finishes, transparencies, brightwork, high-contamination areas, protected surfaces, and applicable interior materials—for changes in condition.
We look for developing contamination, oxidation, changes in protection performance, paint deterioration, transparency condition, and other surface observations that may warrant attention.
The objective is not to continually find more work to perform. It is to recognize changes early, avoid unnecessary correction, and help maintain surfaces before deterioration requires a more aggressive response.
When something appears to fall outside Aero Gleam's surface-care scope, we document the observation and bring it to the owner or operator's attention for evaluation by the appropriate maintenance professional.
Aero Gleam observes and documents. We do not diagnose mechanical or airworthiness conditions.

Stewardship Begins With a Baseline

A long-term preservation strategy should not begin with a rushed cleaning appointment.
Before an aircraft enters regular Stewardship service, Aero Gleam takes the time to understand both the aircraft and the owner's expectations.
The initial process may include:
  • An owner or operator conversation about previous cleaning and protection
  • Aircraft use, mission profile, storage environment, and typical exposure
  • Existing coatings or known protective treatments
  • Areas of recurring contamination or concern
  • Owner expectations for day-to-day aircraft presentation
  • A complete surface walk-around
  • Initial photographs and video
  • Written surface-condition observations
  • Identification of preservation priorities

Aero Gleam then develops recommended courses of action appropriate to the aircraft, allowing the owner or operator to select the level of preservation that best aligns with the aircraft's condition, use, expectations, and ownership goals.
The resulting assessment establishes the aircraft's Stewardship baseline.

Establish the Condition. Then Preserve It.

Some aircraft enter Stewardship already in excellent condition.
Others may first benefit from decontamination, oxidation mitigation, transparency remediation, brightwork restoration, paint correction, or another appropriate corrective service.
That distinction matters.
Major corrective work is not the purpose of recurring Stewardship service. Where correction is appropriate, the goal is to perform the necessary work first, establish a condition worth maintaining, document that condition, and then transition the aircraft into preservation.
Following the initial service, Aero Gleam creates updated photographs and/or video documenting the established condition and reviews the result with the owner or operator.
From that point forward, the objective changes:
Correct when necessary. Preserve whenever possible.

The Aircraft Determines the Schedule

There is no universal Stewardship interval.
Two aircraft of the same make and model may require very different care depending upon how and where they operate.
Service recommendations may consider:
  • Flight frequency and utilization
  • Hangared or outdoor storage
  • Geographic and environmental exposure
  • Aircraft age and surface condition
  • Mission and passenger use
  • Recurring contamination
  • Existing protection systems
  • Presentation expectations
  • Ownership and anticipated resale goals

An initial service interval is established based on these factors and adjusted as Aero Gleam learns how the aircraft's surfaces actually respond.
If the aircraft needs attention sooner, the interval can change. If a longer interval provides appropriate care without unnecessary service, it can be extended.
The schedule serves the aircraft—not the other way around.

What Stewardship Service Looks Like

Every Stewardship relationship is aircraft-specific.
One owner may want Aero Gleam responsible primarily for exterior surfaces. Another may prefer coordinated interior and exterior care. Existing relationships with other trusted service providers do not need to be displaced simply for an aircraft to participate in Stewardship.
Depending upon the agreed scope, recurring service may include exterior cleaning, bug and leading-edge care, removal of appropriate operational contamination, transparency cleaning, maintenance of selected protection, interior surface care, and other preservation services established for that aircraft.
Each visit also provides another opportunity to observe the condition of surfaces already under care.
Significant corrective work is addressed separately when necessary rather than being automatically incorporated into recurring service.
Stewardship is ongoing maintenance of an established surface condition—not repeated correction of the same deterioration.

A Record of Care

Aircraft owners routinely document mechanical maintenance. Aero Gleam believes the history of an aircraft's cosmetic surfaces can also be worth preserving.
Stewardship creates a continuing record of the surface care performed while the aircraft is enrolled in the program.
Depending upon the aircraft and service relationship, that record may include:
  • Initial Surface Assessment
  • Baseline photographs and video
  • Preservation strategy
  • Service dates
  • Surfaces cared for
  • Protective systems applied
  • Condition observations
  • Corrective surface work performed by Aero Gleam
  • Photographic documentation
  • Changes observed over time
  • Recommended next service interval
  • Annual Surface Assessments

Over time, those individual records become something much more useful:
a documented history of how the aircraft's surfaces were cared for.
Stewardship documentation is a record of Aero Gleam's surface-care observations and services. It is not an aircraft maintenance record, mechanical inspection, appraisal, or representation of airworthiness.

Known Aircraft. Better Continuity.

One of the advantages of an ongoing relationship is that Aero Gleam does not need to rediscover the aircraft at every appointment.
We know what protection has been applied.
We know which areas repeatedly collect contamination.
We know the previous condition of surfaces we are monitoring.
We know the owner's presentation expectations.
And we have a record against which current observations can be compared.
That continuity allows surface-care decisions to be based on the history of the individual aircraft rather than treating every service as an isolated event.
The longer we know the aircraft, the more useful its history becomes.

Stewardship Privileges

Stewardship extends beyond the individual service appointment.
Depending upon the aircraft and service agreement, Stewardship clients may receive:
  • Aircraft-specific recurring service planning
  • Proactive scheduling around anticipated service intervals
  • Priority scheduling
  • Included Annual Surface Assessment
  • Ongoing protection-performance monitoring
  • Maintained Stewardship Service Record
  • Known-Aircraft Status
  • Direct communication regarding observed surface changes
  • Clean-On-Call™ eligibility
  • Coordinated care around aircraft operating requirements
  • Sale-preparation surface services when requested
  • Consolidated surface-care documentation when ownership changes

These benefits are intended to reduce the amount of surface-care management that remains on the owner's or operator's plate while maintaining direct visibility into what Aero Gleam is doing and why.

When It's Time to Sell

Stewardship does not guarantee an aircraft's future market value.
It does, however, allow an owner to demonstrate something that can otherwise be difficult to reconstruct:
how the aircraft's surfaces were cared for over time.
At the owner's request, Aero Gleam can consolidate applicable Stewardship records, assessments, service history, protection history, condition observations, and selected imagery into a presentation-quality surface-care record for use during the sales process.
Aero Gleam may also provide sale-preparation surface services and, with the owner's authorization, discuss our documented surface-care history with the owner's broker or representative.
The purpose is straightforward:
Don't merely say the aircraft was cared for. Preserve the record that shows how.

A Relationship Built Around One Aircraft at a Time

The Stewardship Program is not a universal detailing package.
It is an aircraft-specific recurring service relationship built around the condition of the aircraft, the way it is operated, the environment in which it lives, and the expectations of the people responsible for it.
Service frequency may change.
Protection strategies may change.
The aircraft's needs may change.
Stewardship is designed to respond to those changes rather than force the aircraft into a predetermined schedule or package.
For private owners, corporate operators, and charter organizations, the commercial structure may also differ according to utilization and service requirements.
What remains constant is the objective:
predictable presentation, appropriate preservation, useful documentation, and one less part of aircraft ownership or operation to manage alone.

Begin With a Surface Consultation

Stewardship does not begin with a subscription.
It begins by understanding the aircraft.
A Surface Consultation gives Aero Gleam an opportunity to evaluate the aircraft's current surface condition, learn how it is operated and stored, understand the owner's expectations, and determine whether an ongoing preservation relationship makes sense.
If Stewardship is appropriate, we can then establish the baseline and recommend a preservation strategy designed specifically for that aircraft.
Assess the aircraft first. Build the plan second. Preserve from there.
